Established in 1886, the City of Roslyn Fire Department is the oldest fire department in Kittitas County. The all-volunteer department provides fire response and emergency medical services for Roslyn and surrounding areas. The department also serves as lead agency for the Upper Kittitas County Fuels program, working to mitigate wildfire threat across the region.

Founded in 1903, the Cle Elum Volunteer Fire Department operates two stations with 42 volunteers and responds to 500+ calls annually. The department provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, vehicle extrication, and community education programs throughout the Cle Elum area.

KCFPD #6 covers 17.2 square miles of Upper Kittitas County, serving Ronald, Lake Cle Elum, Salmon La Sac north to Hex Mountain, and parts of Suncadia. The district operates three stations with a mix of full-time, part-time, and volunteer personnel. Apparatus includes two 4×4 fire engines, two tenders, two aid units, three brush trucks, and a side-by-side rescue unit that runs on wheels in summer and tracks in winter.
