About Ronald, WA

Ronald was established as a coal mining company town in the late 1800s, developed alongside neighboring Roslyn by the Northwestern Improvement Company, a subsidiary of the Northern Pacific Railroad. Like Roslyn, the community was built to house miners and their families and is named after Alexander Ronald, a Scottish coal operator involved in the development of the area’s mines.
